1796 Richard Keam = Peter Keam

Research note by Wesley Johnston, begun 23 Oct 2014, last updated 23 Oct 2014

The following was sent to me by Helen (Keam) Sage in Australia.

From my researcher in England - will of Peter Keam who died 1823. He mentions daughters Betsy Maria and Lydia.  Sons Peter William and Reuben.
A relative in NZ (descended from James born 1754) went to the Truro County Office in 1966  and summarised the will. Peter junior was executor of the will and given duties for payments to Lydia and Reuben during his minority. David born in 1808 was short lived.  I have a letter in Emma Hart's handwriting  (daughter of Peter junior)   -

"In memory of Peter Keam who departed this life April 1st 1823 aged 57 years. Also of Mary Keam wife of the above who departed this life March 11th 1809 aged 35 years.

"Our grandmother and grandfather. The following lines were copied from their memorial stone erected in their memory by Carrie L Carr their great grand daughter."

...........
[Regarding the witnesses Thomas Geach and Maria Keam at Richard/Peter's 1824 marriage at St Austell] If sister Maria had died, witness Maria may also have been his aunt if she was single.
