Daniel Lake, probable son of Abraham Lake and Classje Langestraat

Annette Truesdell notes in 12 July 2016 e-mail

Now as to the Lake who married Absolom Runyon, I have identified her as the dau of Daniel Lake, who I believe to be a son of Abraham Lake and Classje Langestraat.  My notes for this Daniel Lake:

NAME:  "Lake Fam of Gravesend/Staten Island", Mullane/Johnson, pg 31.  Presumed son of Abraham Lake, found in 1706 Staten Island census.
NOTE:  assuming him to be the same Daniel Lake of Kingwood, Hunterdon Co., NJ whose will was dated 25 Sep 1775 and proved 8 Nov 1775 and is referenced below.  This is not proven, however and more evidence is sought to support this assumption, but it seems to be the most reasonable assumption given what is known about the other Daniel Lakes at that time.
DEATH:  wd, 25 Sep 1775, Daniel Lake of Kingwood, Hunterdon Co., yeoman.  Eldest son, William, L100 and my large Bible.  Son, Abraham, L100.  Son, John, L100.  Son, Thomas, L100.  Son, Timothy, L100.  Grandchildren, Abner, Mary, Stephen and Ann Runyon, L10 when they are of age.  Granddaughter, Mary, the dau of my eldest son, William, a bed.  Son, William, the remainder.  Executors, son William Lake and John Taylor, Jr.  Wit. Jonas Thatcher, James Grahams, Lazarus Adams.  Proved Nov. 8, 1775.  31 Oct 1775 Inventory L797.3.2 made by John Sherrerd and Samuel Slater 8 Nov 1775.  NJ Colonial Documents, Lib 17, p. 255

My notes for Miss Lake who married Absolom Runyon:

!NAME:  unnamed dau of Daniel Lake.  Her children named in his will dated 25 Sep 1775 and proved 8 Nov 1775, NJ Colonial Documents, Lib 17, p. 255.  Abner, Mary, Stephen and Ann to receive L10 when of age.
BIRTH:  estimated c1740.
MARR:  Absalom RUNYON (son of Thomas RUNYON) b. 1736 d. 25 Aug. 1809 Kingwood Twp., Hunterdon Co.
DEATH:  prob about 1770.  Records of Dave Little, email fandl@snet.net give death date of 29 Aug 1813 but per the info found on the Runyon Family website, this death date is for Absolom's 3rd wife, Ann Johnson Runyon.
NOTE:   info is found on the Runyon Family website: http://www.russpickett.com/family/runyan.htm.   Absalom, was born the 1st child & 1st son of Thomas, II & Elizabeth (_____) Runyon near Hopewell, NJ in 1736.  He first married a "_____ Lake", dau of Daniel Lake & with her had four children. She died prior to 1770. He then married "Winifret Johnson" (See the Johnson Family by Russ Pickett), daughter of Cornelius & Ann (Stout) Johnson.  Winifret died in 1791. Absalom & Winifret had three children. Absalom married a third time to "Ann Johnson", the sister of his 2nd wife Winifret, & she was born in 1746. They did not have any children.   Absalom moved from Hopewell, NJ to Baptistown prior to 1753. He joined the Baptist Church in Baptistown in 1764 with his father, Thomas II, where he served as a Trustee. He ran a Tavern in Frenchtown during 1769 & was a Tax Assessor in Kingwood Township in 1772. He served as a Quarter Master during the Revolutionary War under Colonel Beavers. He purchased 300 acres of land just below Baptistown prior to 1780.   Absalom's sons Stephen  & Abner moved to Beaver County, PA to homestead in the mid-1780's. In 1787 they used their father's Revolutionary War Service records to help their father purchase 207 acres of land in North Sewickley Township in Beaver County, PA. Absalom immediately sold  of this land, at cost, to each son where they remained to raise families of their own.  Absalom died near Baptistown, NJ. on August 25, 1809 at approximately 73 years of age. He is buried in the Baptistown Cemetery in Baptistown, NJ. His 3rd wife Ann, died on August 29, 1813 & is buried next to Absalom.

Don’t know if Daniel’s dau was actually named Ann, or if she is being confused with Absalom’s 3rd wife, Ann Johnson.
