Alfred's actual mother was Mary Jane Butson, who appears with Alfred in the 1880 census of Traill County, North Dakota. ===== There were two Joseph Hoggarth's in Hibbert Township, Perth County, Ontario, and they both had sons named Alfred in 1878/9, but they are not the same Joseph nor the same Alfred. The younger Joseph was the son of the older one (and of Grace Williams) and the father (with Mary Jane Butson) of the Alfred who is buried in Bethlehem Cemetery.
