While there are many web pages with Chicago street maps, this page gathers together the ones I have found most useful. These tend to be high resolution images that show the entire city in detail. Most of these links are thanks to Amanda Pape's posts in the Chicago Genealogy Facebook group. -- Wesley Johnston

1867 Blanchard Map

The map includes the wards.

1872 Corps of Engineers Map

The map focuses on the waterways and lake but includes the entire city.

1886 Robinson Map

This map does not include the additions made a couple years later of Lake and Hyde Park Townships. So, the southern boundary on this map is about at 39th Street.

1891- August - Central Map, Survey and Publishing Co. "Chicago Suburban Maps: Cook County, Ill's"

1891-2 Greeley, Carlson & Company's Second Atlas of the City of Chicago

This is a link to just one page of one volume. So, it needs exploration at the level of the full atlas and how to find a specific address.

1914 Chicago Schools Map

c1916 Sanborn Fire Maps

The volumes cover the city in sections, each with a different date of publication. So far, I have not found an overall index map that shows the entire city and which volume covers each part of the city.
