The very robust discussions of Cornish Genealogy over the years on Rootsweb come to an end 2 Mar 2020 when Rootsweb pulls the plug on all e-mail lists. So, I have created a Cornish-Gen e-mail list group on Google Groups to keep the flame alive. The outstanding ListMom for the Rootsweb list, Yvonne Bowers, has laid down that role but is a member of the Cornish-Gen Google group. The imminent extinction of Rootsweb lists makes it urgent to set up a replacement while we still have the Rootsweb group. I am in no position to moderate the group nor to do extensive long-term support of it. But I can at least get it started before Rootsweb Doomsday arrives. So, I am looking for another ListMom or ListDad to step forth and both moderate the discussions and be an owner (requires a gmail account) of the group to take care of membership management.
In the meantime, the primary goal is to have everyone who was on the Rootsweb list included in the Google group. Joining the group is a very different issue for people with g-mail accounts than for those who are on the Rootsweb list with non-gmail accounts. So the instructions below tell how to join the group for both gmail and non-gmail members. -- Wesley Johnston
Join Cornish-Gen Google Group with a G-mail E-mail Address
If you want to join the group with your g-mail e-mail address, Google makes it easy. Click on this link to the Cornish-Gen Google Group home page:

Then click on the link to join the group.
When you join, or later, you can adjust your e-mail delivery options for whether you receive every e-mail sent to the group (the default option) or receive a digest of up to 25 messages in a single email. You can also set your display name (the name that will be shown associated with your e-mail address).
If you are unable to join with these instructions, please use the non g-mail instructions below.
Join Cornish-Gen Google Group with a Non-G-mail E-mail Address
If you want to join the group with your non-g-mail e-mail address, Google makes it impossible for you to do it yourself. Only the group owner can add you.
Send an e-mail to me at cornish-gen@outlook.com to request to join the group. Be sure to specify whether you want your e-mail delivery options to be (A) receive every e-mail sent to the group (the default option) or (B) receive a digest of up to 25 messages in a single email or (C) receive a single daily summary. (You can e-mail me later if you decide you want to change your choice.)
Google provides no way to set your display name nor for me to set it. So your e-mails will display with just your e-mail address.

Once you are in the group, send messages to the group by sending them to cornish-gen@googlegroups.com
