Dedde Families 1-3 (Issa)

Context

The list of the earliest 100 families of Dedde given in 2014 to Simon EL ZAKHEM by the mayor of Dedde begins with three ISSA families (which the mayor numbered 1-3) that apparently are related to each other. But there is insufficient information in the list alone to determine how they connect to each other. This note brings together all that I have learned about these families, so that I can represent them in my tree. Since the connections remain uncertain, solid new evidence may at some point force an update to this note and to how I represent the families in my tree.

The List

Here are the families as they appear on the list, with family 2 first as on the list.

What Is Known About These Families?

Family 1

Two notes were established in the review of these families in 2014 and 2015 for the entire list:

• Note 2.1 - The ISSA family originated from one of two SAAD brothers. One kept the name SAAD. The other took the name ISSA.
• Note 2.2 - Adib and Marianna (MATTA) EL ZAKHEM and son Simon figured out (21 Mar 2015) from their own knowledge of the Dedde families that person 1 in family 1 is the grandfather of person 2: Issa Jiris ISSA was the father of Abdallah Issa ISSA, who was the father of Wadiah Abdallah ISSA.

Family 2

In 2020, Yucatan, Mexico, 1919 and 1926 records of daughter Linda Adib ISSA of family 2 established these facts:

• In Mexico, Adib Abdallah ISSA and Hannah Jiris MONSOUR were known as Felipe IZA and Juana MANZUR.
• Adib's parents were given in the Mexican records as Salvador IZA and Maria CHKER.
• Hannah's parents were given in the Mexican records as Jorge MANZUR and Maria SALIM.

Family 3

I have no specific facts about family 3 beyond what is in the list.

Representing the Families in My Tree

I began by representing all three families separately.

Two patronymic middle names appear to align across different families.

1. Adib Abdallah ISSA and Wadiah Abdallah ISSA (who is believed to be the daughter of Abdallah Issa ISSA)
2. Issa Jiris ISSA and Ayssar Jiris ISSA

However, in both cases the two people have birth dates a generation apart.

Adib Abdallah ISSA and Wadiah Abdallah ISSA

Adib was born 1874. Wadiah was born 33 years later, in 1907. Thus, while their fathers both had the name Abdallah, it is highly unlikely that this was one man who was the father of both. Thus, these two families (2 and 1) remain unconnected.

Issa Jiris ISSA and Ayssar Jiris ISSA

Issa was born 1867. Ayssar was born 33 years later, in 1900. Thus, while their fathers both had the name Jiris, it is highly unlikely that this was one man who was the father of both. Thus, these two families (1 and 3) remain unconnected.

Other Connected Families

Some of those in families 1-3 have possible connections to other families in the mayor's list.

Family 1

1 - Issa Jiris ISSA - Faraha SHEIK - 1867 - 15 Feb 1949

1 - Wadiah Abdallah ISSA - Athena SHEBEL - 1907 - 13 Apr 1998

As noted above, we have the following:

• Note 2.2 - Adib and Marianna (MATTA) EL ZAKHEM and son Simon figured out (21 Mar 2015) from their own knowledge of the Dedde families that person 1 in family 1 is the grandfather of person 2: Issa Jiris ISSA was the father of Abdallah Issa ISSA, who was the father of Wadiah Abdallah ISSA.

While Wadiah connects to her father Abdallah (who is not in any family in the mayor's list) and then to his father Issa Jiris ISSA, she does not appear to connect to anyone else in the mayor's list. However, I connect Issa Jiris ISSA from Family 1 to his father Jiris ISSA (roughly estimated birth about 1825) who I TENTATIVELY also carry as the father of Hanna Jiris ISSA of Family 24 and of Rafaat/Rafah Jiris ISSA of Family 81.

Family 2

2 - Adib Abdallah ISSA - Mariam ???? - 1874 - 12 Dec 1972

2 - Hannah Jiris MONSOUR - Mariam SALOUM - 1870 - 3 Jan 1978

Neither the husband nor the wife in Family 2 appears to be connected to any other family with any certainty. The wife is the only person with her surname in the mayor's list, so that she clearly has no connection.

While there are many others with the husband's surname and even one with the same patronymic (see previous section), none of them connect with any certainty to him.

Family 3

3 - Ayssar Jiris ISSA - ???? ???? - 1900 - 4 Jan 1988

3 - Aminah Saad SAAD-???? ???? -  1904- 25 Jul 1981

I connect Ayssar Jiris ISSA to his father Jiris ISSA (roughly estimated birth about 1875) who I TENTATIVELY carry also as the father of Lulul Jiris ISSA, the wife in Family 14. I carry them as possible siblings, since they have the same patronym and are born at about the same time: Ayssar 1900 and Lulu 1906. I leave the father Jiris ISSA unconnected to any parents or siblings, since there is no Jiris ISSA in the mayor's list.

I TENTATIVELY connect Aminah Saad SAAD to apparent siblings who all have the same patronym and were born 1894-1910:

• Seeman Saad SAAD 1894 - 25 Apr 1950 in Family 19
• Salinah Saad SAAD 1898 - ???? in Family 78
• Karimah Saad SAAD 1910 - 19 Aug 1996 in Family 97

I carry all four of them as children of Saad SAAD (roughly estimated birth about 1872) who is not in the mayor's list.

Caveat

All TENTATIVE connections in my tree are subject to change, if solid new evidence shows that I have not represented them correctly.
