Sources that I have already included in my database
These sources are numbered with my source ID numbering system: country, state/province, and a sequential number. For example, USA-IL-A-00162 is the 162nd Illinois source in my database. They are in order by that sequence, which arose from the order in which I added them to the database. This is a bit frustrating, since the images will not be in chronological order of the events that they record. But there are few enough of them that reading over their descriptions will take very long.

These are sources (and perhaps a few pictures of people) that I have that should eventually go into the database but are not there yet. There are many of these, since it is a lot easier to find them than it is to process them.
The general arrangement below is first a few miscellaneous records, then records tied to specific times (census & WWI draft), then records tied to specific places.
NOTE that I am not sure that every single one of these is a relative, but most of them are definitely relatives.

Czech Records
- Petr Koutecky's Work Book (Austro-Hungarian Empire) 1874-1875
This is a book, in both German and Czech, that Petr Koutecky obtained in 1874 (at age 23) to allow him to legally work in different places within the Austro-Hungarian Empire. My Mother, Elsie Subert, told me that her grandfather, Petr, had told her that he once worked in Byelorussia (White Russia) as well. I have scanned every page of the book (with 2 pages per scan) at 1200 dpi and saved the images as TIF files, since TIFs do not lose accuracy every time that they are saved. (JPGs do lose a bit of accuracy every time they are saved.) I converted one page to a JPG and converted the entire book to two different PDF files, which have all of the pages. One PDF file is at 144dpi and is perfectly readable. The other is at 600 dpi, so that it can be enlarged more than the 144 dpi one, in case there is anything needing enlarging. However the 600 dpi file is a 5-times larger file than the 144 dpi and thus will take longer to download.
The TIF files are huge: about 210MB each and will take about 4 minutes to download on a cable high-speed internet connection - and much longer on a dial-up connection. The link below is a pointer to the directory with all of the TIF files.
NOTE: Since pages 38-79 were all blank form pages, I did not scan those. So the images jump from page 37 to page 80 (which has no number and faces the inside of the back cover).
- Two Postcards from Karel Koutecky
Petr's brother Karel had been the Koutecky family sponsor at the birth of Petr's first child, Bozena (who took the name Bessie in America). At some point, which I would guess would be about 1900-1910, Karel, who did not come to American, sent two postcards (dopisnice) to Petr in Chicago. One postcard was addressed to Petr. The other was addressed to Petr's daughter Emma (Emily), the first child of his second marriage. There may have been other postcards for Petr's other children, but I only have these two.
I have placed 1200 dpi TIF scans (about 80 MB for the fronts) of the cards in the same folder as Petr's work book TIFs.

Our young cousin who moved from Modrejovice to Australia, Zdenka (born Koutecka) Bohacova, has translated the card.
Dear friends! Till now I have not received the letter ...with photographs. Did you receive it yet? Here are parents, brother and I. Sister is not here. All tell us cousin Anna. Write us all cousin Emilko. With pleasure I want to know something from you. For all regards, parents, brother and Karel

Our young cousin who moved from Modrejovice to Australia, Zdenka (born Koutecka) Bohacova, has translated the card. The little girl in the photo is identified as Marenka Storkanova.
Dear cousin! Here I sent you girls of my sister. You know sister is 5 years married! She has two children (girls) 4 years and 2 years old. Let come to visit us. I am just now in the factory Breitfeld, Danek and Co. It is the biggest Austrian factory. Write very soon cousin. Kind regards Karel.
