Katerina Tišerová, wife of Jakub Koutecky

This note clarifies two uncertainties: the surname and the birthplace of Katerina.

Based on the following records, I find it abundantly clear that Katerina's surname begins with T and not with F. Thus the Czech form of her surname is NOT Fišerová but Tišerová.

Based on the index of her birth records (another record of someone born in the same place), I find that Katerina was born at Krakovec 3, which was known in German as Rothschloss, which is how the relevant record is indexed.

Marriage Record 

Katerina married Jakub 13 Nov 1810 at Modrejovice 23. The marriage record image is at Slabce 9, image 56, page 9 (folio 34), where it is the first marriage on the right-hand page:

 She is shown as the daughter of Wenzel with surname either TISCHER or FISCHER. This volume has no index, but the marriages for 1784-1821 are indexed in Slabce 26. However, the index is only by name of the man with the woman's name omitted. However the hightest page number for K men in the index is page 7 so that neither page 9 nor Jakub are included ( https://ebadatelna.soapraha.cz/d/11959/49 ).

So, the index cannot help. But the record itself makes clear that the surname begins with a T and not with an F. She is shown as "Katharina Tochter des Wenzl Tischer". The capital T on "Tochter" is exactly the same as the first letter of the surname.

Death Record of Son Jan Koutecky

Jakub and Katerina's 7-year-old son died 14 July 1821 at Modrejovice 17. The image of his death and burial record is at Slabce 10, image 117, folio 1 at the bottom of the left-hand page:

This writing of her surname is TISHER, although the T could easily be confused with O or S but not F.

Baptismal Record of Katerina

The baptismal record of Katerina appears to be the 31 August 1784 Catharina, daughter of Wencseslai Tischer and Catharina (no surname given) in Petrovice-RA 05, image 163, page 4 where the record is the third from the top on the left-hand page:

Comparing the first letter of the surname to the prior entry's Frantisek Froelich, it is very clear that Catharina's surname is TISCHER  and does not begin with an F.

The inded is of no use in this, since she is not indexed under T (image 177) nor under F (image 169). However, the index is crucial to reading Katerina's birthplace.

The next record after her is of a boy named Wenceslaus born in the same place as Catharina (he in house 22 and she in house 3). I cannot read the place name, but it appears to be "Rub...". In the list of towns in Czech and Germain in the register description ( https://ebadatelna.soapraha.cz/pages/MatrikaPage/idx/163/matrikaId/11246?10 ), no town has this name.

Fortunately, although Katerina's baptism is not indexed, the index does include the baptism of Wenceslaus ( the last entry in the  left-most column of https://ebadatelna.soapraha.cz/d/11246/172 ). The index shows the town as "Rothsloss", which is in the list of town names as the German name of the town of Krakovec.
