Context

On 23 March 1802, 4 April 1802 and 11 April 1802, marriage banns were published for the pending marriage of "James Phillips of this Borough and Jenefer Tucker of the Same" in the Parish of Truro St. Mary, Cornwall. On 17 April 1802 at Truro St. Mary, the couple were married by James Ferris, Clerk. James Phillips signed his name, and Jenefer  Tucker made her mark. Matthew Eliot and W. Barrett signed their names as witnesses. W. Barrett may have been a frequent marriage witness since he signed as the witness for a marriage the following day and also, sometimes as William Barrett over the next months. The marriage banns record and the marriage record contain no information about the parents of the couple.

Who were the parents of Jenefer Tucker?

Two Jenefer Tucker baptisms fit best with the known facts from the marriage, which presumably took place when the couple were in their early twenties. Thus, they were born either in the late 1770s or early 1780s.
