George Robert Warren was married to Irene Konosoer on June, 12 1940. They lived in Blue Island most of their life before moving to Naperville, Illinois. They had five children; Jean, Carol, George, Ray and Glen. George and Irene lived in Blue Island the first 28 years of their marriage. George was in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater from 1944-46. After the war George was employed as a chemist by Union Carbide for 33 years. George was also involved in Boy Scouting, the Wheaton Amateur Radio Club the Luthier's International (a violin making association) and was a member of the Toastmasters. George and Irene were active in the St. Philip Lutheran Church of Blue Island and were charter members of the St. Timothy Lutheran Church of Naperville, after their move to that city. George was renown for his crossmaking and created over 60 Lenten Crosses for the church. George died on April 26, 1997.
