BATAVIA — Alfred J. Wulff, 86, of Batavia, died Friday, April 30, 2004, at his home.

He was born March 8, 1918, in Chicago.

Mr. Wulff was a member of Holy Cross Church. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois. He attained the rank of major in the U.S. Air Force. He was the former president of Buttrey-Wulff-Mamminga Insurance Co., former president of the Aurora Serra Club and a former president of the Aurora Country Club. Mr. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Aurora Jaycees Club, a member of the Kiwanis Club, the Knights of Columbus, the Union League Club and the Independent Insurance Agents of Aurora.

He is survived by his wife, Nathalie Wulff; six children, William Wulff of Aurora, Thomas Wulff of Aurora, John (Pam) Wulff of Batavia, Peter (Kristy) Wulff of Sugar Grove, Mary (James) Duffy of Libertyville and Timothy (Sue) Wulff of Batavia; nine grandchildren, Carolyn (Trevor) Penick of Aurora, Katherine (Greg) Carroll of Des Moines, Iowa, Michael, Elizabeth, Margaret, Julia, Joseph and Brian Wulff, all of Batavia, and Jack Duffy of Libertyville; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Anna (Huster) Wulff; his son, Richard J. Wulff; and his brother, Norman Wulff.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, with a Liturgical Wake Service at 7:30 p.m., at The Daleiden Mortuary, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, at Holy Cross Church, 2300 Main St., Batavia, where he will lie in state from 9 a.m. until the hour of the Mass. The Rev. Daniel Deutsch will officiate. Interment will be at Mount Olive Cemetery.
